How to Fix the Webroot 'Installation 103' Error

The Webroot "Installation 103" error occurs during Google Chrome browser installation. It takes place when a missing Windows component called "expand.exe" prevents Chrome from installing properly. You fix this error by first checking for "expand.exe" and then changing the location of your temporary folder. Note that you may need administrative rights to perform this task.

      Click the "Start" menu. Type "expand.exe" without the quotes into the search bar. Right-click the file in the search results and select "Copy."

      Navigate to the following location: "C:\Windows\system32." Right-click and select "Paste" to move the file to the "system32" folder.

      Install Google Chrome. Go to the next step if you are still experiencing issues.

      Click the "Start" menu and select "Run..." Type "run" without the quotes in the search bar if you use Windows 7.
