How to Get Good Areas for Vending Machines

Owning a vending machine can be a profitable venture, but the location you choose for the vending machine could affect the success of your sales. Consider the type of item you have in your vending machine, and then look for an ideal location. Putting the items you sell in front of your target audience is essential to making money.

Find a high-traffic location. If your vending machine is behind a wall or another object, you should consider finding a different location. Selecting an area that people will be between meals or during meals is an ideal choice. Visit the location you are considering during snack and meal times.

Discover a location that is complementary to your machine. If you have a food machine, it is good to place it next to a soda machine. If there is another food machine within walking distance, you may be splitting profits. If your machine is near a lunchroom, look at the products the lunchroom is selling. If you want to sell exactly the same products, you might reconsider placing the machine near a lunchroom. If lines are long, however, customers may bypass the lunchroom for a faster vending machine.

Find a location with a customer base that will purchase from your machine. College students and middle-class workers are two types of audiences that would carry change for vending machines. If you decide to place your vending machine in a higher-class area, consider that these customers might not carry change but may prefer a credit card option.
