How to Hide Update Progress

When you begin to download updates to your computer using the native Windows Update tool, a program window stays on screen displaying the update progress. This is designed to let you know how this process is coming along, but it can definitely get in the way of your productivity if you're trying to use your computer at the same time. You can hide this update progress at any time using native Windows tools.

  Select the "File" menu in the Windows Update program window.

  Select "Close" to hide the progress of your Windows Update installation.

  Double-click on the "Windows Update" icon in your system tray at any point to maximize the window and display your update progress on-screen.
