How to Identify Which Kelty Kids Pack I Have

Kelty makes a number of child backpacks. All of these packs have slightly different styles depending on what year they were released and the features of the packs. Narrowing down the frame of the pack can help you determine what model number belongs to your particular Kelty. Frame type and size tends to be the major difference, though there are other options such as sunshades that can also help narrow down your search.
  • The Simple Way

    • 1

Locate the tag on the pack. Usually somewhere inside the pack there is a tag. The tag might have the model name on it, but more likely it will have a model number.

    • 2

Write down the model number. Depending on the age of the pack, the number can be quite lengthy. It will be helpful to write the number down.

    • 3

Enter the number into a search engine. This number will call up exactly what pack is associated with the Kelty.

If Your Pack does not have a Tag

    • 1

Look at the pack and determine if it has a metal frame. The most current models with a metal frame include the FC 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0. The metal frame pops out so when you take it off your back it will stand on its own.

    • 2

Determine the size of the pack's storage. If it has a large storage compartment and no metal frame it is likely the TC 2.0 or TC 3.0.

    • 3

Check the pack for a sunshade that goes over the child's head. If it has a sunshade it will be a FC 2.0 or a TC 3.0. If it has the metal frame it is the FC 2.0.
