How To Import VHD Into a VMware Server

The VMware Server application lets an IT administrator install multiple operating systems on a single dedicated computer, known as the host server. All the resources of the host server are shared among the installed operating systems. The hard disk of the host server is split into virtual hard disks (VHDs) that can be imported from other host servers.

  Log on to the VMware Server using an account with administrative rights.

  Browse to the VMware Server Administration site, which is found under "Programs," "VMware Server."

  Click the "Virtual Hard Disks" section.

  Click "Import VHD" and browse to the location of the VHD. Click "Import."

  Click "OK" to save the settings.
