Plug the computer performance downloader into the OBD II port located next to the hood release switch inside of your truck. Follow the directions to install a new program into your truck's computer; many of these devices can add up to 180 extra horsepower to your truck, according to "4 Wheel and Off Road" magazine.

Choose an inline pressure control box; this is a device that plugs into your truck's manifold absolute pressure sensor and fuel pressure sensor. As with the programming device, make sure you consider all brands and models to ensure that the one you select meets your needs.

Install the fuel pressure control box under the hood by attaching it to the manifold absolute pressure sensor and fuel pressure sensor, according to the manufacturer's directions. Take your vehicle to a professional mechanic if you are not comfortable working with the engine of your truck.

Adjust the program that you have installed in your truck's compute,r and the adjustment knob for the pressure control box that installs inside of the truck, so that you increase the power as much as you like while keeping your fuel mileage at an acceptable level.
