Download Fedora 10 to your computer (see Resources). This is an ISO (disc image) file, specifically made to be put on and run from a CD. It contains the entire operating system and even allows you to run Fedora without installing it.

Insert a blank CD, open your CD burning software and select the option "Burn Disc Image." Locate and select the Fedora 10 ISO and press "OK." Click "Burn Disc" and wait for the process to complete.

Restart your Precision M4400 with the Fedora CD still in the drive and press the correct key to enter the system BIOS. It flashes on the screen when "Dell Precision" pops up. Go to "Boot Order" and change "CD-ROM" to "Primary Boot Device." Press "Esc" and select "Save Changes and Exit." Your M4400 now reboots into the Fedora 10 CD.

Select "Install Fedora 10" from the menu. Select your time zone, language, keyboard and disk partition on which to install Fedora. Create a user name and password and select "Install Fedora 10." This begins the install process.
