ActiveX controls are utilized by large numbers of websites to display media, such as video and audio tracks, and provide custom functionality, like a GUI for HTML-based playlists and automated email checkers. Most Internet users encounter lots of ActiveX controls every day, though they may not know it. Installing an application made up of ActiveX controls is very easy.

  Navigate your web browser to a page containing the desired ActiveX control.

  Select the "Options" button, which will drop down from the toolbar. This will open a menu containing several options.
