How to Make a Birthday Card With the Backyardagins

The Backyardigans is an animated cartoon show airing on Nick Jr. Like other programs on the network, it's devoted to teaching kids in a fun way that keeps them from growing bored. Despite the show's popularity, you may have some problems finding a birthday card featuring your child's favorite characters, so just make your own, using decorations of the characters.

  Visit The Backyardigans Printables page of the Nick Jr. website. Look for a color image of the characters to use on the front of the card and something special to tuck inside, such as a Backyardigans maze or coloring page. Print your favorite choices.

  Fold a plain piece of card stock in half to make the basic card. Cut the Backyardigans image from the piece of paper, making a plain rectangle photo or one in a more unique shape, like a circle or heart. Apply a small amount of glue to the back of the image and place it on the front of the card.

  Write a special note inside using markers. Personalize the message to the birthday boy or girl, wishing a happy birthday. Use markers that match the colors of the picture you applied to the front.

  Decorate the inside of the birthday card with a few Backyardigans stickers. Peel the stickers from the page and add to the card. Use the child's favorite characters or make a mix of all the characters from the show.

  Place the maze, or other special treat you printed, inside the card. You may need to fold it in half to fit properly. Slide the card inside a card envelope. Write the child's name on the outside of the envelope and decorate with more stickers.
