Cut a piece of fabric of your choice six and a half inches long and three inches wide. Measure four inches of fabric up the side at one end and fold it over and pin it in so that it holds the fold.
- 2
Starting on one side at the bottom of the fold sew the two sides of fabric together going down the edge, then double loop or knot thread to secure. Repeat with the other side of the fold. Your fold should now be sewn into a pouch with a two and a half inch flap atop it.
- 3
Cut a small horizontal slit in the center of your flap half an inch from the edge. Make the slit just about a centimeter long, as it only needs to be large enough to loop your ribbon through.
- 4
Cut a piece of ribbon 20 inches in length and pull it through the slit you've cut until half of it is pulled through and the dangling ends are even in length. Insert card or cards into the pouch, then fold flap down over the pouch. Begin wrapping each end of ribbon going in opposite directions around the pouch and tie them together at the ends in a bow to secure.

How to Make a Card Pouch
Card pouches are little fabric pouches that are great for encasing gift cards, or even to hold your credit cards and identification cards. Designing your own card pouches is one way to coordinate your pouch with a gift card, or even with your purse to hold your own cards. Making card pouches is easy and can be done using a few craft tools.
