How to Prevent an "Action Canceled" in IE6

When you are trying to access a Web page with the Internet Explorer 6 web browser you may receive an error that tell you that the action was canceled. The message also states that Internet Explorer is not able to link you to the page you requested and that it might unavailable. You can easily correct this problem and prevent it from occurring again by deleting all of your cookies and turning off the LAN settings in Internet Explorer.

      Open Internet Explorer 6 on your computer and then select the "Tools" option from the top toolbar menu. Click the "Internet Options" button.

      Select the "Delete Cookies" option from the "Temporary Internet Files" section and then click the "OK" button.

      Click the "Delete Files" option and then click on the box next to the "Delete all offline content" field so that it's selected. Click the "OK" button and try going to the web page again.

      Click the "Tools" option in Internet Explorer 6 again if you still receive the message. Click the "Internet Options" button and then select the "Connection" tab.

      Select the "LAN Settings" option and click on the boxes next to the "Automatically detect settings," "Use automatic configuration script" and "Use a proxy server for your LAN" fields so they're deselected.

      Visit the web page again, and you should no longer receive the "action canceled" error message.
