How to Recover a QDFM File

If you've deleted a Quickbooks QDFM file only to later realize you need it, you can recover the file using the "Backup and Restore" feature of Microsoft Windows. Windows comes with the backup feature by default, and provided you have configured your operating system to back up on a regular basis, you can recover the file.

  Select "Start" on the Windows desktop. Open the "Control Panel."

  Choose "Performance and Maintenance."

  Select "Back Up Your Data."

  Select "Restore Files."

  Click the check box next to the QDFM files you want to recover.

  Click "Close." The file will be recovered.
