Turn off overhead lights, and if necessary ask appropriate office personnel for permission to do so. Explain the health concerns and risks involved with screen glare and the reasons why you cannot have overhead light in your office area.

Place a desk lamp to the side of your monitor on your desk. This type of light is much less likely to cause screen glare than overhead light is. Experiment with the proper placement and bulb wattage of your lamp, and find the setup that best reduces computer screen glare.

Tilt or turn your computer monitor, and observe whether different adjustments reduce screen glare. Find the adjustment that best reduces glare.
