How to Reinstall eData

On many Acer brand computers, the Acer eDataSecurity Management utility provides extra protection for security-conscious users. It allows you to encrypt files and some data sent online. Whether you have sensitive information or just want to breathe a little easier, Acer eDataSecurity Management can provide an extra measure of protection. If the utility becomes damaged or corrupted in any way, you can reinstall it by using the company's website.

      Click "Start," "Settings," "Control Panel" and "Add or Remove Programs." Select the Acer eDataSecurity Management utility from the list, and click "Uninstall."

      Open the Acer home page in your Web browser (see Resources), and click on the "Service & Support" tab. Choose your Acer computer model from the list. Click on the "Acer eDataSecurity Management" link on the list of programs that appears under your computer model's name. The utility will download onto your machine.

      Double-click on the newly downloaded utility to begin the install process. Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall a fresh copy of the program onto your computer.
