Remove loose dirt and debris from the bricks with a hand broom or vacuum.

Put on a pair of rubber gloves and goggles to protect your skin from bleach splashes.

Mix one ounce of bleach and one quart of water in a large bucket.

Dip a stiff bristle plastic scrub brush into the bleach cleaning solution and scrub the algae spots on the bricks. Continue to dip the brush and scrub until you have scrubbed away all the algae.

How to Remove Algae Stains From Brick
The brick exterior of your home may develop mold, mildew and algae growth in areas that are dark and damp. That could create problems on another type of exterior, but one of the benefits of having a brick exterior is that it is durable and low-maintenance. Algae doesn't ruin your brick, and it can be removed with a few household items and a couple of garden tools.
