How to Remove Baldwin Deadbolts

Baldwin deadbolts are part of a high-quality line of door locksets and hardware, and are built to provide dependable security for the lifetime of the door. When the entry door is being replaced or refinished, removing the door hardware is required and the basic procedure common to all Baldwin deadbolt models is easy to complete.
    • 1

Open the door partially to view the edge and both sides.

    • 2

Detach the interior thumb latch and cylinder cover by removing the two Phillips screws positioned on each side of the latch pivot. For double deadbolt styles without an interior thumb latch, detach the interior lock cylinder by removing the two Allen-head bolts using an Allen wrench.

Remove the exterior lock cylinder by pulling it horizontally out of the door hole and slide bolt mechanism.

    • 4

Detach the slide bolt mechanism from the door by removing the two Phillips screws from the bolt face flange on the door edge, then slipping the slide bolt mechanism out of the door hole.
