How to Remove a Ford F150 Head Rest

The headrests in the Ford F-150 are adjustable for passenger comfort. There is an adjustment button positioned on the outer post of each headrest. This button also secures the locking mechanism that holds the headrest in the seat. When the headrest is damaged or you need to remove the seat, you can remove the headrest in seconds at home without the need of a mechanic.

  Insert your hand between the seat back and the headrest. Locate the adjustment button on the outer post of the headrest.

  Squeeze the adjustment button, pressing in toward the center of the headrest. Use your other hand to lift up on the headrest, raising it up to the highest resting position.

  Push up gently against the base of the headrest to break the headrest posts free from the top of the seat. Lift the headrest out of the truck and set it aside.
