How to Remove an Icon From a Tool Bar

Have you noticed your computer slowing down or taking a long time to start? Too many icons in the toolbar may be the culprit. Sometimes new software or new downloads get deposited into your tool bar and may bog down your computer after a while. They can take up space on your memory, making basic tasks seem arduous and difficult. However, it is simple to remove icons from your tool bar.

Start your computer like you normally would and let the icons in the bottom corner of your screen load on the tool bar.

    • 2

Differentiate between the icons you should keep and those that are non-essential. Items such as antivirus, antispyware and your printer are some that are necessary. Most software icons can be found on your desktop screen or Start menu.

Remove icons you do not need by left clicking the Start menu then clicking on All Programs. Next click on Startup.

    • 4

Watch the programs appear when you click on Startup. Right click and delete each item such as calendars, messengers and anything else you do not need.
