Check to make sure that the power cord is plugged in and your home's fuse is not tripped or blown. This could account for your machine not turning on.
- 2
Position the machine on flat carpeting and remove any obstructions if the machine still will not start. It will not start cleaning if there is an obstruction in the way.
- 3
Press the flexible hose into place until you hear the release button snap up if the machine will still not start. The flex hose is located on the side of the machine.
- 4
Remove the clean tank from the side of the machine if it is making an odd noise or is not spraying. The machine may be out of cleaning fluid. Remove the clean tank by grasping the handle, pulling up and then away from the SpotBot. Unscrew the cap at the bottom of the machine and fill the machine with solution. Replace the cap and put the tank back into the machine.
- 5
Lift the dirty tank latch and remove the dirty tank if the machine has lost suction. This may be because the tank is fill of dirty water and cleaning solution. Empty the dirty water and rinse the container. Put the container back into the machine and close the latch.
- 6
Turn the machine upside-down if it continues to have little or no suction. Gently brush the spray tip with a wet toothbrush. This will remove any clogs at the tip of the spray nozzle.

How to Repair a Bissell SpotBot
The Bissell SpotBot is the company's small spot cleaning machine that is intended to spot clean rather than to clean the entire carpet. The machine does not require any manual scrubbing to clean the carpet. Users simply place it over a stain while it soaks the carpet, scrubs it with cleaning solution and then rinses and dries it. The machine can stop working, however, and you'll need to provide repairs. Contact the Bissell Company if your warranty is still in effect, and they will repair the carpet cleaner or pay for repairs.
