Disconnect the negative (-) battery from the battery's terminal. Use the socket wrench to loosen the wingnut, then remove the cable from the battery, setting it out of the way. Repeat this for the red (+) cable as well, also setting it out of the way from the battery. This will allow that the battery to be removed without any interference.
- 2
Lift the old battery out of the Intrigue's battery compartment carefully, then set it on a flat surface, such as a table or workbench. Be sure not to spill any of the fluids that may be leaking from the battery on the parts of your engine, for it could cause corrosion in the future.
- 3
Carefully place the new battery in the battery compartment, with the negative terminal on the negative cable's side, and the positive terminal on the positive cable's side.
- 4
Connect the black, or negative (-), terminal cable connectors to the negative (-) battery terminal, then tighten the wingnut with the socket wrench. Repeat this for the red, or positive (+), terminal cable connector as well. Your Intrigue will now receive power from the new battery.
