How to Replace the Cabin Filter in a 1997 Honda CRV

The 1997 Honda CR-V has a replaceable cabin air filter that blocks allergens, small particles and dust from entering the interior of the vehicle from the outside air intake. Honda recommends replacing the cabin filter once every 10,000 miles, or every 12 months. If the CR-V is often driven in heavy traffic or in dusty conditions, the filter should be inspected more often. A dirty cabin filter decreases air flow through the ventilation system.
