How to Replace the Line 6 Backtrack Battery

The Line 6 Backtrack portable digital recorder captures high quality digital sound through 1/4 inch instrument cables or directly from a mixing board. The device also has a built-in microphone with an eight-hour battery charge, according to the Line 6 Backtrack user manual. Over time, the lithium ion rechargeable battery will lose some of its charge capacity. If you need to replace the battery, you must open the device to access the battery compartment.
    • 1

Unscrew the four screws on the bottom of the Line 6 Backtrack digital recorder using a Philips screwdriver.

    • 2

Slide a flat-head screwdriver below the USB charge port in the seam on the device's plastic outer shell. With the screws removed, a small latch near the USB charge port still holds the cover on. The latch is pressure sensitive, so you just need to wiggle the screwdriver around near the USB charge port until it touches the latch, then the main plastic shell should loosen.

    • 3

Pull off the plastic outer shell.

    • 4

Remove the battery pack from inside the Line 6 Backtrack digital recorder. The lithium ion battery pack is clearly labeled with a large white sticker. It should pull right out the of the battery compartment without much resistance.

    • 5

      Insert a new battery pack.

    • 6

Place the shell back on and press down until you hear the latch click.

    • 7

Reinsert the four screws to finish sealing up the outer casing.

This is total nonsense, the backtrack hasn't got any screws. Line 6 themselves state that the battery cannot be replaced.
