How to Replace a Zire 31 Battery

Palm hand-held personal data devices, such as the Zire 31, come with a replaceable and rechargeable battery. Because the battery is replaceable, you can prolong the life of your Zire 31 well beyond when it fails to hold a complete charge. This allows you to keep your data in one place on a device you use on a daily basis.

Attach one end of the USB cable to the Zire 31 and the other end to your computer.

Click the hot sync button to copy the information from your Zire 31 to the computer.

Turn off the Palm Zire 31 and flip the device over so the back is facing you.

Remove the three screws located on the back of the Zire 31 and place them in a safe location.

    • 6

Use a flat screwdriver or a pair of tweezers to pry open the back of the Zire 31. Gently lift up the cover so you can see the parts inside. If there are wires attaching the cover to the rest of the device, do not remove them.
