How to Tether a Pantech Impact

AT&T offers the ability to connect to your Pantech Impact and use it as a modem for your computer. Using your phone as a modem requires the Laptop Connect rate plan starting at $35 a month as of 2010. Once you have added this service to your phone plan, you will be able to use your device menus to connect to a dial-up modem connection through your mobile phone.

  Click "Menu" on your phone.

  Highlight "Settings" using the directional keys and click "Select."

  Highlight "Connectivity" and click "Select."

  Highlight "Select USB Mode" and click "Select."

  Select "Ask on connection" or "Music Player" to enable the wireless modem and click "Select."

  Open the "AT&T Communication Manager" on your computer.

  Connect your USB cable to your phone and to an open USB slot on your computer.

  Click "Connect" in the "Mobile" section of the Communication Manager when "Ready" is displayed. You are now able to connect to the web using your phone as a modem.
