Charge both your old and newly purchased TracFones. Allow the phones to charge for at least an hour for ample battery life.

Remove the battery from your old and new TracFones. Find the serial number for both phones, which is typically located within the battery compartment. Write the serial numbers down on a notepad. When you call TracFone customer service, you will need the serial number for both phones.

Call TracFone customer service at 1-800-867-7183. Inform the representative you have purchased an upgraded phone and you wish to transfer your number to the new TracFone. The representative will ask you for the old cell phone serial number to confirm the number. You will then need to tell the representative the serial number for the new TracFone.

Activate the TracFone after the representative has transferred your current TracFone number to the new TracFone. Restart your new TracFone, and when it turns on make a phone call. Your airtime units should automatically transfer to the new phone.
