How to Use Wax on a Stainless-Steel Sink

Stainless steel, a chromium/nickel alloy steel, is a resilient product that withstands most stains and scratch marks. Unfortunately, over time the finish on stainless-steel sinks dulls from dish soap or coffee and tea poured over the surface, removing its brilliant shine. Using wax on the stainless steel polishes and restores the sheen.

Clean the stainless-steel sink with 1 tsp. of liquid dish soap and a dish rag. Remove stains with a nylon scrubbing pad.

Rinse the sink with cool water. Dry the sink with a soft dish towel, removing all liquid.

Apply 1 tsp. of the car wax to the sponge applicator. Rub the wax into the sink, starting from the back. Use circular motions with the applicator as you apply the wax. Place another teaspoon of wax on the applicator as needed to cover the entire sink. Allow the wax to dry to a cloudy consistency.

Wipe the wax from the sink with a soft cloth. Use medium pressure as you buff the sink. After removing the wax, wipe any residue from the sink with a clean cloth.
