Pull out the small plastic plug on the end of the igniter wires, attached to the socket. If the igniter wires are attached to oven wires with ceramic nuts, untwist the nuts by hand and pull apart the igniter wires and oven wires. Remove the two screws holding the igniter in place (use a screwdriver), and remove the igniter.

How to Wire a Gas Oven Ignitor
Gas oven igniters are small cylindrical tubes located under the oven base and metal flame spreader, near the back of the oven. They have a metal protection cover with two screws that attach to the bottom of the oven. Two wires lead from the back of the igniter that are either attached to the oven with a small plastic plug or are connected to two oven wires with ceramic twisting nuts. Replacing the igniter is a simple step-by-step process, taking little time to complete.
