How to Word Baby Girl Announcements

New parents often choose to announce their baby's birth to family and friends by mailing out birth announcements. While some parents may choose gender-neutral wording for the announcement of their new baby, using gender-specific wording helps new parents announce and celebrate the arrival of their new baby girl. Knowing how to word an announcement for a baby girl makes the decisions involved in creating or ordering announcements easier.

Gather all important information. Birth announcements often include information about the new baby's birth, weight and length, as well as the time of arrival. Before leaving the hospital or birthing center, obtain the information that you wish to include in your daughter's announcement.

Start with an introduction. Most baby announcements start with a simple phrase or poem. Choose an introduction that works for you. Some families prefer simple statements such as "We welcome our daughter," or "Celebrating a new sister," while other families choose short poems. You can choose a poem that you like, search for a new one, or make your own poem.

Provide your baby girl's name and birth details. After the introduction, list your baby girl's name. Decide whether you want to state your baby's full name, or just her first and middle name. After stating her name, announcements typically include the baby's date of birth, length and weight. Consider including place and time of birth.

List family information. The bottom of the announcement is the place to provide your family information. You can provide the parents' full names, and the names of any siblings. You can also include the grandparents' names, if you wish. Depending on which names you include in the family information section, you can also write a simple statement such as "proud parents" or "happy family," if you like.
