How Would I Jail Break My iTouch?

Jailbreaking your iPod touch offers many benefits, including access to hundreds of apps and emulators (video game simulators) for free. Many of these apps aren't even available for a fee through the iTunes store. Jailbreaking is completely legal, though you'll void your warranty and increase your chances of contracting a virus.

  Open your Safari browser on your iPod touch and navigate to jailbreakme.com.

  Swipe the slider across (just as you do when you unlock your device) to begin jailbreaking your iPod. This may take several minutes, so be patient.

  Tap "OK" when you receive the message saying "Cydia Has Been Added to Your Home Screen."

  Touch the "Cydia" icon on your iPod touch's home screen to open the Cydia app.

  Tap "User (Graphical Only)" when the pop-up window appears.

  Tap "Complete Upgrade" when the "Essential Upgrade" prompt appears.

  Tap the "Confirm" button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. A prompt will appear, notifying you that you void your warranty by jailbreaking your iPod. Touch "Force Removal" to continue. Your iPod touch is now jailbroken.
