Instructions for the Drip-O-Lator 48-Cup Coffee Maker

If you have a vintage 48-cup Drip-O-Lator coffee maker, you may not have the instructions that go along with it. Many people inherit these fully functional units, or purchase them at garage sales, but have no idea how to use them once they bring the machine home. These coffee makers are simple to use. They are just slightly different than the coffee makers of today. No matter what size Drip-O-Lator you have, they all operate the same way.

Measure the coffee. Remove the water container from the top of the coffee pot. Inside you'll see a filter-free basket. Pour your measured coffee grounds into the basket.

Attach the water reservoir. Put the metal water canister on top of the coffee pot. Make sure that the reservoir is seated securely so that it won't tip over once it's filled with water.

Brew the coffee. This coffee maker has no electric elements, so you will need to boil the water on the stove before using it. Pour the water into the reservoir on top of the coffee maker and replace the lid. The water will run down, through the filter-free basket, over the grounds and brew the coffee into the coffee pot below it.
