Instructions for the G-Shock Mudman

Casio manufactures a line of shock-resistant watches called G-Shock, marketed for use by both extreme sports enthusiasts and consumers looking for a combination of durability and utility. The Mudman model includes a variety of features, making it a rather complicated device. Learning a few simple steps, however, will help you master the functions of the G-Shock Mudman.

      Hold the Adjust "A" button, usually located on the upper left side, until the city code flashes. Be sure to do this while the watch is in time keeping mode.

      Using the "Mode" button, you can cycle through different options and select what you want to adjust (hours, minutes, day, etc.). Press the "Start/Stop" button at bottom right to change the number once you've selected the option you want to change. To complete the process, press the "Adjust" button.

      Turn on the backlight by pressing the button on the bottom of the timepiece. The light will glow for about 2 seconds. You can also set the automatic function that will light the face of the watch whenever the alarm, countdown alarm or hourly alarm ring. To do so, hold the lower right button until an indicator appears on the display.

      Set the alarm by pressing the lower left button until "AL" displays in the upper left corner of the display. Press and hold the upper left button until the hours unit starts to flash. Adjust the hour by pressing the lower right button, then press the lower left button to proceed to minutes. Use the lower right button again to adjust the minutes. To set the month and day of the alarm, follow these same instructions. Once you are done press the upper left button to save the changes.

      Return to the timekeeping mode by pressing the lower left "Mode" button three times.
