Instructions for Installing an HD Set-Top Box

Cable companies use set-top boxes that are able to decode the incoming cable signal and display your cable service on your TV. These set-top boxes also come in an HD variety that are able to receive and display high-definition images from HD broadcasts. The best way to install an HD set-top box is with an HDMI cable.

Plug in the incoming cable line to the cable input port on the set-top box. Some cable providers use a modem that is connected to the cable line. If that is the case, connect the modem to your set-top box with an Ethernet cable.

Turn on your TV and set-top box. The box will automatically connect to the network and initialize. It might take a few minutes for the box to turn on and update the channel data.
