Instructions for a W385 Battery

The Motorola W385 cell phone features Bluetooth connectivity, a digital camera and voice commands. Its vertical external display allows users to view the date, time and indicators for missed calls and messages without opening the phone. Before using the W385, the included battery must be inserted and charged. The battery is able to charge either through an electrical outlet or through a computer's USB port.

Insert the battery by placing the phone face down, then pressing down the tab at the top of the battery panel. Lift the panel up, and place the battery inside. Press the cover down until it "clicks" in place.

    • 2

Charge the battery with the included charger by connecting one end to the phone's USB connecter and the other end to an electrical outlet. Remove the phone from the charger when "Charge Complete" is displayed on the phone.

    • 3

Charge the battery from a computer by connecting the phone to a USB cable, then connecting the cable to a high-power USB connecter on the computer. Turn on both the phone and the computer to begin charging.

    • 4

Store the battery, if not in use, in a cool, dark place. Charge the battery at room temperature, not in extreme heat or cold.

    • 5

Purchase a new battery if the original battery does not seem to hold a charge for a long time.

    • 6

Save battery life by keeping the phone's Bluetooth feature off when you do not need it, and keeping the backlight off as much as possible.

    • 7

Conserve battery power by using the phone's "Battery Save" setting. Choose the "Settings" option," then "Initial Setup" and "Battery Save." This feature turns off the keypad's backlight automatically when it detects enough ambient light.
