Compatibility
-
A MicroSD device is compatible with a MicroSDHC card. Since both cards are SD format, the device will read either card for storage. You just need to determine the maximum storage the device can handle.
Difference
-
The main difference between MicroSD and MicroSDHC lies in the speed of transfer between the device and the card. The HC in MicroSDHC stands for High Capacity and allows faster saving for larger picture, music or video files. Video cameras almost exclusively need SDHC cards so you won't lose video frames when recording.
Speed Loss
-
If you put a MicroSDHC card in a MicroSD device, you'll lose that faster transfer rate. For pictures and music, you may not notice a difference, but it's possible you'll lose video frames when using a camcorder.
