Latitude X1 Specs

    • The Latitude X1 is the lightest notebook in the Dell range, weighing in at 2.2 pounds. While the Dell line of laptops used to be dominated by chunky systems, the X1 has crammed what makes it tick into a much thinner case. Dell teamed up with Samsung to make this model. The X1 is actually based on the Samsung Q30 that was not released in America.

    System Information

    • An Intel Pentium 3 single-core processor is at the heart of the Dell Latitude X1, producing processing speeds of 1.1 GHz and a data bus speed of 400.0 MHz. With a hard drive capacity of 30 GB or 60 GB depending on the chosen model, the double data rate 2 system RAM stands at 1.24 GB. RAM provides the microprocessor with data from the hard disk and is vital to a computer's performance.

    Dimensions

    • The laptop measures 1.3 inches high and 11.2 inches wide, with a depth of 7.7 inches. It weighs 2.2 pounds.

    Display

    • An LCD 12.1-inch monitor with anti-glare is fitted into the laptop. It has an aspect ratio of 16:10, which is the ratio of the longest side of a shape compared to its shortest. The screen has a maximum resolution of 1200 x 768. But the X1 can support displays up to an ultra-extended graphics array (UXGA)1920x1200 resolution, so by linking the Dell up to another monitor, a higher-quality display can be achieved.

    Video and Audio

    • An Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 graphics processor with 915 GMS graphics chipset comes installed. There is a microphone for audio input, and both a sound card and an AC97 integrated speaker to boost sound quality from the laptop.

    Power

    • The power is provided through a 50-watt AC adapter and a six-cell, 53-watt-hour lithium ion battery with an external battery gauge and one-hour recharge time.

    Internet Connectivity

    • The Latitude X1 has a 56k v.92 modem built in, as well as Ethernet LAN for wired connections. For wireless, there is an Intel Pro Wireless 2200 network connection. There is also a Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth card installed for Bluetooth connectivity.

    Other Features

    • There are two USB 2.0 slots, one RJ-11 port for modems and one RJ-45 Ethernet port. The laptop's disc drive can play and write DVDs at 86.4 megabits per second, as well as play or write CDs at 259.2 megabits per second. It also has a floppy disk drive. The Dell Latitude X1 uses Microsoft Windows XP operating system.
