MS Exchange Server Rules

  • Moving Messages

    • You can create a rule within your MS Exchange that moves the emails to specific folders based upon the criteria you assign it. For instance, you can send email from certain addresses to folders you create, or base it upon what is in the subject line, or even base it upon whether or not an email has an attachment. This will help to keep clutter out of your inbox and kept for you to read when you are ready.

    Flagging Messages

    • Flagging messages literally puts a little flag next to your email alerting you that it needs additional attention. Flagging can remind you to read the message, call the sender or send a reply. Flagging messages set apart the emails that need action from all the others that are hitting your inbox.

    Delete Messages

    • Setting up MS Exchange rules to delete messages is done to keep your inbox clear of any items that you do not want to read or that may carry a problem, such as a virus. Deleting can keep spam from entering your email and viruses from opening and attacking your computer. The rules can be set up to delete messages based on factors like sender and subject line.
