New York Boat Trips

    • Boat trips around New York City are an excellent way for tourists and locals to experience the city. Views from the water give unique perspectives of the famous skyline, as well as up-close views of the Statue of Liberty. Most trips occur daily but some are set around holidays or special events.

    New York Circle Line Cruises

    • New York Circle Line offers a two hour semicircle cruise, a three hour full island cruise and the Zephyr Happy Hour on the Harbor cruise that run daily. The semicircle cruise starts by going down the Hudson River and circles back at the United Nations. A standard adult ticket is $35.95. The full island cruise runs throughout Manhattan. Major attractions such as the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge are encountered. Light food is served onboard for an additional charge. Adult tickets are $39.95. Zephyr Happy Hour on the Harbor, for guests 21 years old and up, features a dance floor with a DJ and cash bar. Tickets are $25 and a valid form of identification is required. Discounts are available to children and senior passengers, and all prices are as of November, 2010.

    New York Harbor Cruises

    • The New York Harbor Daytime Cruise lasts 90 minutes, and tour guides give information at each site, including Ellis Island, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building and the United Nations. Food and beverages are available for a separate fee. Departures are three times every Sunday and Tuesday from early April through December. A cruise with a New York Historical Society tour guide is the first cruise each day. The Twilight City Lights Cruise runs from May to November each year, and presents views of the Manhattan skyline at night. From May through June, the cruise departs at 6:30 p.m. From July through November, the cruise departs at 7:30 p.m. Tickets on each cruise are $30.95 for adult passengers, as of 2010, with senior and child discounts available.

    World Yacht Dinner Cruise

    • World Yacht Dinner Cruise provides dinner and dancing around major sights of the city on selected dates. No casual attire is allowed, including jeans, sneakers or shorts. The cruise boards at 6 p.m. and runs till 10 p.m. Bookings are $135 per person, as of 2010, and CitySights presents a $10 discount through their website.
