Polaris RZR Specs

    • Founded in 1954, Polaris Industries is an American manufacturer of snowmobiles, golf carts, ATVs, and side-by-side UTVs. Polaris offers UTVs in their Ranger line, and the Ranger RZR is unique to the Ranger series. Polaris proclaims the RZR, read as Razor, to be the industry's only trail-capable UTV. The RZR sports many features that make it capable of living up to that claim.

    Engine

    • The 2011 Polaris Ranger RZR 800 is equipped with a liquid-cooled 760cc high-output four-stroke in-line twin engine with overhead valves. Each cylinder has two valves, for a total of four valves. This engine features electronic fuel injection, with a 40 mm fuel injector. The RZR 800 engine features an electronic ignition and an electric starter. The bore measures 80 mm, while the stroke is 76 mm. The engine has a compression ratio of 10.1:1.

    Transmission & Drive

    • The RZR features a continuously variable automatic transmission, featuring high- and low-gear ranges, neutral, reverse and a parking brake. Drive power is transmitted to the wheels with a shaft drive. The RZR is equipped with an On-Demand drivetrain system, that allows the driver to select from true all-wheel drive and two-wheel drive as the situation or their whim warrants.

    Suspension & Brakes

    • The front wheels of the 2011 RZR are equipped with independent double A-arm suspension with a pre-load adjustable fork, anti-sway bar and 9 inches of travel. The rear wheel features independent rolled double A-arm suspension, with two adjustable shock absorbers, adjustable spring preload, anti-sway bar and 9.5 inches of travel. The RZR also features four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes, with dual-bore front calipers. The CVT transmission includes a parking brake mode.

    Wheels & Tires

    • Both the front and rear wheels of the 2011 RZR are made of stamped steel and have a diameter of 12 inches. The front wheels are fitted with Maxxis 25 x 8-12 tires, while the rear wheels are equipped with Maxxis 25 x 10-12 tires.

    Dimensions & Capacities

    • The 2011 Polaris Ranger RZR 800 is 103 inches long, 50 inches wide and 69 inches high. The wheelbase measures 77 inches, and the RZR clears the ground at 10 inches. It has a dry weight of 945 lbs, and can carry up to 7.25 gallons of regular, unleaded gasoline. The bed box measures 22 inches long, 42 inches wide and 10 inches high, with a capacity of 300 lbs. The overall payload capacity of the RZR is 740 lbs, and it's capable of towing 1,500 lbs. It uses a standard 1.25 inch receiver hitch. The RZR is recommended for no more than two riders.
