PowerPoint Projector Tips

    • Presenting PowerPoint presentations from a projector could give your career a boost. Projectors are expensive, and it helps to know what to look for to get the best purchase for your needs. Keep in mind that the projector is just a tool and you are the one in control. Choosing a projector that has the correct computer connectors, brightness and resolution will help keep technical issues to a minimum and your presentation professional.

    Connectivity

    • Choose a PowerPoint projector that allows for connectivity from a PC and from a laptop. The PC connection is blue, whereas the laptop connector is white.

    Brightness

    • Look for a projector that has an appropriate brightness, which is measured in lumens. Determine your lumens level by the size of your projection screen, which is measured diagonally. For an average screen that is less than 100 inches, a projector with 2,000 lumens should produce a good display with adequate lighting.

    Image Resolution

    • Image resolution is important in determining how your presentation will be displayed. For high-quality PowerPoints, choose a XGA 1024-by-768.
