Sugar Coating is a product made by Doodlebug Designs for scrapbooking. According to the Scrapbook Store, Sugar Coating is a custom-colored glitter that comes in mini spice jars, making it look even more like sugar than a scrapbook accessory. Sugar Coating can be used on scrapbook pages to add a bit of sparkle or bling.
Stamping with Sugar Coating
-
Glue pads can be used with stamps and Sugar Coating to create gorgeous and sparkly designs for your scrapbook pages. Use a stamp or stamps of your choice, press them into the glue pad and then onto your scrapbook page. Cover the stamp with the Sugar Coating color of your choice, dump the excess off and voilà: you have a sparkly stamped creation.
Bling Bling Bugs
-
Butterflies, ladybugs and bees can all use a bit of bling. Dress up ordinary paper scrapbook bug embellishments with some Sugar Coating. Create bling bling bugs by using a glue pen or glue stick to get your bugs nice and sticky, then dust a bit of Sugar Coating over the bug, covering the wings, body or antennae with Sugar Coating. Be sure to do all of this over a larger piece of paper so that you can funnel the excess Sugar Coating back into its packaging without wasting any.
Adding Adhesive
-
Adhesive backing shapes or glue dots can be used as a sort of "middle man" in your quest to add Sugar Coating to your scrapbook pages. Adhesive backings are sold in a variety of shapes and are sticky on both sides, so one side can be dipped into a shallow bowl of the Sugar Coating color of your choice and then adhered by the other side to your scrapbook page.
