The HP E6320 computer--officially known as the Pavilion Media Center a6040n--is a media center computer, meaning that it was designed specifically for use with Windows Media Center, though the computer can also be used for a variety of other uses. The computer features Intel VIIV technology, which is designed to provide increased support for multimedia uses and comes standard with high-definition audio as well. It also comes with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed.

The HP E6320 computer comes with a Core 2 Duo E6320 running at 1.86 GHz (Gigahertz). It is built inside a tower case and there is a level two cache of 2MB (Megabytes) for each processor. The computer comes pre-installed with 2GB (Gibabytes) of RAM and room for up to 4GB. It uses PC2400 DDR2 RAM. The built-in hard drive provides 320GB of storage and uses a SATA connection. A DVD +/- RW DL drive is included as well. It features read speeds of 40x and 16x for CDs and DVDs, respectively. Write speeds range from 32x for CDs to 5x for DVDs. It also features lightscribe technology, which allows you to laser print a label onto your disc (using specially coated discs).

The computer comes with built-in graphics provided by an Intel GMA 950 graphics chip set. As previously mentioned, high-definition audio is built in as well. The computer comes with a standard keyboard and a mouse. The computer also comes with a media card reader, which can read a large number of different kinds of cards, such as Memory Stick/Memory Stick Pro/Pro Duo, Microdrive, CF (Compact Flash), Mini SD cards, Multimedia Cards, SmartMedia cards and SD Cards.

The computer features a large number of ports, including a modem port for the 56kbps modem and an Ethernet port. Other ports include audio output, USB ports, headphone ports and an SPDIF port. There is also an IEEE 1394 (Firewire) port and a VGA port. There are also mouse and keyboard ports and a parallel port.
