Specifications for the Nissan GT-R

  • Engine

    • Power for the Nissan GT-R is generated by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter, V-6 engine. When introduced in 2009, the engine was rated at an amazing 480 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Industry experts such as Aaron Robinson of "Car and Driver," noted that the GT-R performed as though it possessed even more power. A slight boost in the official power rating was seen in 2010. A rating of 485 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque grace the 2010 and 2011 GT-R.

    Performance

    • From a stand-still, the Nissan GT-R can reach 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. Similar times have been accomplished in a 640-horsepower Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster and 611-horsepower Ferrari 599GTB Fiorano, according to Car and Driver. The Lamborghini and Ferrari have price tags in the $400,000 and $300,000 range, respectively. Yet, the 2011 Nissan GT-R has a starting suggested retail price of $84,060. The GT-R can also pass the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds and pull nearly one g on the skid pad, recording 0.99 g.

    Exterior

    • The Nissan GT-R posts a hefty curb weight of 3,829 lb. Sitting on a wheelbase of 109.4 inches with 20-inch wheels, the GT-R measures 183.1 inches long, 74.9 inches wide and 54 inches high.
