Troubleshooting Guide for the Infocus LP280 Projector

InFocus' LP280 budget-level projector can be connected to PCs, laptops or DVD players. The connector panel includes S-Video, VGA and other connections. The projector is portable at 5.7 lbs and features a brightness of 1000 ANSI lumens. They are often used for multimedia presentations. Problems with the InFocus LP280 can include blank screens, no computer image and fuzzy and hard-to-read images. Fix problems like these by following some troubleshooting steps.
    • 1

Plug in the power cable. One end needs to be plugged in at the wall, and one end to the projector. This is in addition to any connections between the projector and a source, like a PC.

    • 2

Remove the lens cap if you don't see anything on the screen and the InFocus is obviously powered --- if there are lights on. If all you see is the InFocus logo on the screen, then make sure the source cable is connected tightly.

    • 3

Press the "Menu" button on the projector keypad and reset the projector if it still won't synchronize with the computer, or other source. From the menu, highlight "Reset" and then press "Select."

Change the computer's resolution to match the InFocus LP280's if things still aren't right. Right-click anywhere on the PC's desktop and look for the "Properties" dialog box, and then choose "Settings." Adjust the resolution slider bar to 800x600, the projector's resolution. If you only see part of the image on the screen, make further adjustments to the slider. Try various permutations. You may find that deselecting the laptop or PC's screen helps. Look for an "Output to..." option and try changing it.
