Wax Products for Cars

    • Wax products for cars help prevent damage from the elements, bird droppings, UV rays and anything else that can damage your car's paint or cause scratches or corrosion. There are different types of wax products, including synthetic and natural. Wax products shouldn't leave a residue or be abrasive.

    Fast Waxes

    • Fast waxes are a quick-working type of car wax that produce a shine and help protect paint. This type of wax often comes in a liquid that's easy to spread and wipe off. Most fast waxes don't leave a powder residue. A benefit of using a fast wax is that it usually can be applied over an entire vehicle before it needs to be wiped off. It also gives a high-gloss shine that lasts 30 to 60 days. It takes less than an hour to wax an average-size vehicle.

    Natural Waxes

    • Most natural waxes are made from a tropical plant called Copernica Cerifera, a breathable and gentle type of car wax. There are different purity levels of natural wax, but some chemicals are usually added to make it soft. These waxes need to be used more often than synthetic waxes to keep their shine. A benefit of natural waxes is that they can eliminate most minor scratches or imperfections. Also, they create a sheen on all paint colors.

    Synthetic Polymer Waxes

    • Synthetic polymer waxes, or paint sealants, usually last about six months. These types of waxes produce a bright shine or wet shine and are easy to apply. It's best to apply synthetic polymer waxes in thin layers with a machine or by hand. Most of these waxes have barriers that protect against environmental pollutants. They also adhere to surfaces, which protects against detergents. Some brands also reduce water spots.
