Toning the muscles of your abdominal region builds mass and burns fat. This reveals your abdominals, creating a fit figure and a washboard-like appearance. According to the American Council on Exercise, anyone can get toned abdominals by regularly performing simple movements. Several abdominal exercises are simple enough to perform around the house while occupied with other tasks. Execute these exercises daily to tone your stomach quickly.

    Vacuum Pose

    • The vacuum pose is an abdominal exercise that you can perform any time you are sitting down. The vacuum pose involves flexing your abdominals as tightly as possible in an attempt to pull your stomach in. This is a muscular movement; you should not be using your breath to suck in your stomach. Hold the vacuum pose for three to five minutes at a time to tone your abdominals and burn stomach fat. This is simple to perform while you are watching TV, talking on the phone or working at a desk.

    Keep Abdominals Flexed

    • Keeping your stomach flexed whenever you are standing or walking will improve your posture and tone your abdominals. You do not need to flex your abdominals so tightly that it impedes your movement. Simply flex them enough to pull in your ribcage and stomach. According to Suzanne Schlosberg and Liz Neporent, authors of "Fitness for Dummies," this constant flexing is one of the fastest ways to get firm, toned abdominal musculature.

    Standing Crunches

    • Standing crunches are an easy exercise that you can perform while doing other tasks, such as washing dishes or watching TV. The standing crunch involves crossing your arms over your chest and flexing your abdominal muscles. As you flex your abdominals, your torso should pull down slightly, mimicking the motion of a regular crunch. According to Kurt and Brett Brungardt, authors of "The Complete Book of Abs: Revised and Expanded Edition," this exercise is easy to interject into any household chore. Simply perform one repetition whenever you have a second to spare.
