What PDAs Will Work With Skype?

• Personal digital assistants (PDAs) used to be standalone hardware devices for managing project information, schedules, email and connecting to the Web. Nowadays, PDAs are built directly into mobile phones that are marketed as smart phones. Modern PDAs feature more powerful processors and can connect to a variety of networks to provide constant access to the Internet. These devices are well suited for the Skype Mobile application, as they are capable of making and receiving calls through your Skype account from almost anywhere. As of October 2010, there are nearly 50 smartphones that can run Skype Mobile.

iPhone

• The Apple iPhone works very well with the Skype Mobile application. You can install Skype Mobile from the App Store on your phone free and be up and running with Skype in a matter of minutes.

Android

• The number of smartphones sporting the Google-developed Android operating system is on the rise. Popular models include Motorola Droid, Motorola Milestone, HTC Dream, HTC Hero, HTC Droid Incredible, HTC Eris, Google Nexus One, HTC myTouch, LG GT540 Optimus, LG VS740 Ally, Samsung i9000 Galaxy S and Samsung Acclaim. Smartphones running Android 2.1 or newer are fully compatible with the Skype Mobile application. The program can be installed from the Android Market free of charge.

Nokia

• A wide range of Nokia mobile devices will work with the Skype Mobile application. As of October 2010, Skype lists the following Nokia models as being compatible with Skype Mobile: 5320, 5530, 5800, 6210, Navigator, 6220, Classic, E51, E52, E63, E66, E71, E72, E75, E90, N78, N86, N95 8GB, N96, N97, N97 mini, X6. You can install the Skype Mobile application by navigating to skype.com/m on your Nokia Web browser.

Sony Ericsson

• Skype reports that the Sony Ericsson models Satio, Vivaz and Vivaz Pro are compatible with Skype. The Skype Mobile application can be installed by visiting the Skype Mobile website from your Sony Ericsson Web browser.
