Youth rallies and general rallies across the world happen nearly every day. Rallies can range from the support of a medical cure or a political rally to even a respect rally for teenagers and fighting against domestic violence. Whether you're hosting a rally to fight crime or to encourage young people, you can host activities that will encourage discussion and thoughts.
Break the Ice
-
Depending on the type of rally you are hosting or organizing, you can break the ice in various ways. Having the attendees at the rally get comfortable with one another may help smooth communication and help increase the overall excitement for the rally. Have random attendees introduce themselves and tell a random fact about themselves or something they find funny or unique. You can select random participants, or have them volunteer to speak. Have participants bring up their own topics they would like to discuss, to openly engage them in conversation and to also encourage sharing their ideas with the rest of the group.
Relating
-
Have someone who can relate speak to the youth at your rally. This will help keep interest from those at the rally, as well as feeling relatable to the attendees. If you are hosting a rally on respect, you should have someone in a human resources department or child services department speak on the topics you are presenting. You can also consider hiring respect rally groups or contacting other professionals to speak, such as psychologists or other regular adults who have experienced what your youth rally attendees may be discussing.
Old School Games
-
Play games such as Telephone to have your youth rally attendees get acquainted with one another. You can pass messages between the entire group to get everyone involved at once. For Telephone or other games you wish you use at the youth rally, you can also separate the entire rally into different groups at random, switching them intermittently to introduce everyone to one another. You can draw topics from hats within groups for discussions to liven things up, making the topics completely random for different participants as well.
