It's the big day. High school or college is finished and you are about to begin your next phase in life. But before that can happen, you must walk to receive your diploma during your commencement ceremony. Dress appropriately; after all, mom and dad are watching. Consider a few dressing tips before heading down the aisle in cap and gown.

Do not place the cap on the back of the head or tilt it to either side. Instead, position flat on your head. There should be around a 1-inch gap between the crown of the cap and your eyebrows.
How to Wear the Gown

Your graduation gown should be wrinkle-free with the appropriate attire underneath. It is preferable to wear dark shoes and no jewelry or pins with the gown. Women should wear a dress with a high neckline for modesty, and men should wear a shirt with a collar and a necktie as well as nice slacks.
The Tassel
-
Always wear your tassel on the right side of your cap until the end of the graduation ceremony. After your school confers the degree, you can move the tassel from left to right.
