How to Control Screen Saver Users

Screen savers are a neat way to personalize your computer. When you share a computer, however, it may become annoying to see goofy or inappropriate screen savers running on the system. To prevent this from happening, you can use the Windows Group Policy functionality to control whether users have the ability to change the screen saver.

      Click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your desktop. Type "gpedit.msc" in the field, and press your "Enter" key.

      Click "User Configuration" > "Administrative Templates" > "Control Panel" > "Personalization."

      Double-click the "Prevent changing screen saver" item in the main window. Choose "Enable" and click the "OK" button. Close the window.
