How to Locate an Address Using a Telephone Number

Prior to the Internet, knowing someone's phone number would have been only scantily useful for an ordinary person, permitting you to call the number and obtain information from the person who answered. These days, Internet databases can cross-reference phone numbers with a wide array of other data about their owners, including physical addresses. Locating a person's address using his phone number is a straightforward and simple process, one which will require only a few moments to complete.

Perform a "Reverse Phone Lookup" using the official "White Pages" online. Point your web browser to whitepages.com and enter the phone number into the "Reverse Phone" field. Click "Find" to be taken to the address.

Use an unofficial source such as "anywho.com" or "phonenumber.com." While the official White Pages will look up only numbers that are "listed" in the White Pages, these directories have no set limitation. Visit either website, click the "Reverse Lookup" tab, enter the phone number and click "Search."

Enter the number into a Google, Yahoo! or Bing Internet search. Even if someone's number pulls up no references using any of the directories, it's possible they have posted it somewhere online--and their address alongside it. Major search engines such as these three scour the entire web for any occurrence of information.
